Clean tail for the Z900 2025-2026: short tail tidy and seat cowl

The Z900 2025-2026 comes with a sharper tail than the previous one, but two things spoil it from the factory: the long number plate arm and the pillion seat. With three parts the rear ends up short and clean, and you don't drill anything.

Why the 2020-2024 parts don't fit

The redesign changed the tail and its mounts. A tail tidy or seat cowl from the 2020-2024 won't fit the 2025-2026, even if they look alike in photos. If you're not sure which one you have, check which Z900 generation you have: the 2025-2026 is the one with the angular front fairing.

1. Short tail tidy

This is the change you notice most. The 2025-26 short tail tidy is CNC aluminium and puts the number plate right up against the tail.

• It uses your stock indicators: no need to buy new ones.
• It has an LED number plate light.
• It bolts onto the stock mounts, no drilling. About 30 minutes.
• It's reversible: the original goes back on at the same points.

2. Solo seat cowl

The 2025-26 solo seat cowl covers the pillion seat and closes off the tail. The bike looks shorter and more track-focused.

• ABS plastic in five finishes: gloss black, matte black, carbon-look finish, Kawasaki green and metallic grey.
• It sits on the pillion seat, no cutting or drilling.
• When you carry someone again, it comes off in a moment.

3. Racing exhaust bracket

The racing exhaust bracket replaces the pillion footpeg on the exhaust side and holds the silencer with a clean plate. It fits every Z900 from 2017 on. About 15 minutes.

All together

The 2025-26 Clean Tail Kit combines the short tail tidy and the exhaust bracket, and costs less than buying them separately. The seat cowl is added on its own, in the colour you want.

Recommended order: tail tidy first, then the exhaust bracket, and the seat cowl last. That way you check the lights and indicators before closing off the tail.

Inspection and the rules

The short tail tidy changes where the number plate sits, and we don't provide any type-approval for it. Keep the original in case they ask for it at the inspection.
